DIRECTOR

Eric Schwartz is a recent graduate of The Art Institute of Portland with a bachelors degree in digital film and video. It took Eric a lot of roads to travel down to find out filmmaking was his true passion. Eric has been a volunteer Firefighter, a Red Cross volunteer, where he spent four months down in Louisiana after hurricane Katrina. Eric also spent time in the military as a combat medic for marines over in Iraq. After all that he found film was his true passion. Eric likes working and learning with people in the film community and wants to further continue is career as a filmmaker, to show and tell amazing storys.

 

The Void, is Eric’s senior thesis film from The Art Institute of Portland, but it is so much more then that. Eric worked on the script for The Void for over 9 months. Everything about “The Void” is something Eric personally took form his past experiences in life. Eric has a personal belief that movies are not made by one person but by many people. The Void is no different. The Void has attracted many talented actors and crewmembers that helped him in every way with this project.

Shannon Breen is an aspiring film maker and a graduate of the Art Institute of Portland. With a passion for filmmaking, she is always up for an adventurous set and looking for new projects to work on. Shannon has been involved with many student and professional films around Portland and has a variety of non-fiction and fiction background. With a professional and fun attitude, she is always up for a challenge and puts all of her effort into a project to guarantee the best outcome. Whether it be producing, editing, lighting, sound editing, or cinematography she full heartedly involve's herself to any project and is always trying to work harder and become more of team player.

Kerry Kutzer is a young and accomplished writer and actor on Oregon’s west coast. He currently lives in Portland, OR and is steadily building himself up to being one of the most talented screen-writers to come out of the digital film & video program at the Art Institute of Portland. Kerry is a big fan of action and fantasy films and takes a lot of pleasure in writing films in both of those genres.  

EDITOR

Alex Short is an English born, Welsh raised Kiwi, currently studying at the Art Institute of Portland, Oregon, USA. After venturing from her Hobbit hole in the sheep ridden valleys of New Zealand, Alex Short is bursting onto the movie scene as an independent film maker. She has worked on several short films as an Art Director, including Monica Graves' "Meet the Neighbours" and Dylan Wainwright's "Lights Fade" and recently Produced and Directed a fashion documentary behind the scenes called "The Dressing Room". Currently she is working as Producer / Art Director for Eric Schwartz's short film "The Void" as well as a Music video for New Zealand's own Phill Simmonds, but her main passion is giving in to her love affair with the camera; operating, assisting or directing it.

Joshua Ezra Epps’s interest in film started in high school when he started filming and editing shorts. He is a filmmaker and frequently teaches to students out of New York. Based out of Portland, Oregon Joshua is currently obtaining his BA at The Art Institute of Portland, enrolled in the Digital Video and Film Program. His film career spans both documentary and fictional film and he has been screened at both Hot Docs and The Annapolis film festival. His current research interests include human interest stories and theory, fashion production, and cinema theory.​

GAFFER

Erik Wallin is a graduate of the Art institute of Portland. He has been living in Portland, Or. for the past 8 years. He strives to tell a good story as a filmmaker, weather though visual or vocal story telling. The past few years he has been working on both student films and professional sets, doing commercials, short films, and feature length films. He works hard to know the inner workings of how a set works, and the hierarchy between departments and the entire crew. He is currently a Videographer at Inkwell Creative in Portland, Or.
